Happy Earth Day! 🌎💚 Today’s ABC Countdown to Summer was “B: Be Kind to the Earth.” Alex gave a wonderful presentation for our kindergarten, first, and second graders about her family’s bees and the honey they make. She shared several of the tools they use, providing great visuals that helped bring her presentation to life for our younger learners. To wrap up, Alex gave each student a sample-sized jar of honey to take home and enjoy! 🐝🍯

April 21st kicks off our ABC Countdown as we head toward the last day of school! Each day will feature a fun theme for students to enjoy. From A to Z, we’ll celebrate with activities, dress-up days, and special moments to make the end of the year memorable. Participation is encouraged but not required. Let’s finish the school year strong while having some fun along the way. Reference the calendar for the daily themes!

The Forman Park District House League is gearing up for another great summer season, and registrations are now open for T-Ball/Coach Pitch and Minor League Baseball/Softball. We are very proud of our 3-6th grade students who worked incredibly hard this week to demonstrate their learning on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) state tests. Today the students partied! 🥳 Giggles, smiles, and treats were abundant! Thanks to all the students, staff, and parents for working hard this year to make us Spring Lake strong! 💪 🐾 💙

K–2 students brought the excitement of March Madness to reading with a Book March Madness tournament! Sixteen books competed for the title of favorite. Each day, students listened to two stories and voted for the one they loved most to advance in the bracket. It was a close competition, but one book came out on top. Congratulations to our champion, "Duckling Gets a Cookie" by Mo Willems! 🍪

Dear Parent or Guardian,
The Illinois Department of Health and Family Services and your County Health Department have extended the deadline to return the preventive dental screening authorization form to the school. The new deadline is Thursday, March 26, 2026. There is no charge for this treatment. This screening also meets the requirement for students entering 2nd and 6th grade in the fall. If you need a new form, please contact the office. Thank you.

Spring Lake School is closed today, March 16.

Our first graders have been busy learning a new life skill each week! This week they tackled sewing. 🧵 Students started by practicing with lacing cards to learn the basics before moving on to their sewing project. Each student then chose an ocean animal to sew and stuff. They worked hard practicing their new skill and were excited to take their finished ocean animals home! 🐙🐠🐳
