🌿🦋 Meet Lori, our favorite Monarch guardian!
Every summer, Lori has a very special mission — collecting monarch butterfly eggs from milkweed. From May through September, she carefully gathers eggs as part of the Central Illinois Monarch Butterfly Task Force. These butterflies will begin their incredible journey, migrating from Canada through central Illinois and all the way to Mexico this fall.
We’re so grateful to be a small part of this amazing cycle of nature — and thankful for people like Lori who help protect these beautiful creatures year after year. 💛

Kindergarten, first, and second-grade students had fun creating picture collages with a box!

Our first graders are learning important life skills this year, and this week’s focus is knowing when and how to call 9-1-1!
They were excited to welcome Deputy Hastings to the classroom today. He shared what it’s like to be a deputy, answered student questions, and even read his favorite book. Thank you, Deputy Hastings!
On Friday, TAZCOM will be visiting to give a whole-school presentation on this essential skill. What a great way for our students to learn safety and responsibility!

The company that takes our student pictures sends emails out regarding photos. Please let us know if you DO NOT want us to share your email with them. Please let us know at the school ASAP .
