Another proud and bittersweet moment as our former Spring Lake students graduated 8th grade from Rankin!
It’s so exciting to watch our students grow, achieve, and take the next big step toward high school. We are proud of all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see what their futures hold!
Congratulations to Brantley, Becca, Kale, Dominic, Capri, and Alyvia!

It’s always a bittersweet but exciting day when we celebrate Senior Walk on the last day of school!
Our small but mighty school has so many amazing students who go on to do incredible things after leaving us. It’s inspiring for our current students to see what former students have accomplished through their education and hard work.
Where it all began!!!
Congratulations to Alivia, Audrey, Baylee, Dieter, Kaiden, Makenzie, and Tyler!
Go do great things. We are so proud of you all!

FALL
Individual Golf Sectionals
· (6th-8th grade) to participate in the Fall 2026 IESA Sectional Golf Match
· The Sectional Golf Matches for this coming school year will take place on September 9, 2026, for boys and September 10, 2026, for girls. The course locations for these events are currently to be determined.
· The District would enter individual golfers who have a parent that is able to become certified to coach their own child through the IESA (i.e. take the coaching course and concussion training). Please note that the District does not field a golf team as this opportunity is open to individuals with parents who become IESA certified. The parent would be responsible for transporting and supervising their own child, and be responsible for the coaching course fee of $19.95, the entry fee of $45 (estimated), and the green fees for the golf round. If we have more than two individual boys and/or girls register, the parent of the third athlete and parents of any additional athletes (i.e. first come, first serve) would not be able to coach, but they would still be responsible for transporting and supervising their own children. IESA's deadline for entering is June 8th. Thus, if you are interested, email
mgordon@rankin98.org before June 8th. After June 8th, any athletes who want to register for this event will be placed on a waiting list (i.e. no guarantee), and, typically, the entry fees double.

Today, students enjoyed a fun and well-earned Reading Incentive Field Trip to Striketown Bowling Alley! 🎳📚
Students were eligible to attend by meeting their individualized monthly Accelerated Reader (AR) goals or by reaching their yearly AR goal. Throughout the program, students read books and completed comprehension quizzes to demonstrate understanding and earn AR points. Our Kindergarten students also worked hard using Epic to track and achieve their reading goals.
We are so proud of our students for their dedication to reading and learning this year. Congratulations on your hard work and accomplishments!

What a magical day in First Grade!
Today we took a virtual trip to Disney and visited all four parks! From riding exciting rides to completing fun activities, our students had the best time exploring the magic together. They even trained like Jedi masters and enjoyed delicious Mickey waffles!
We ended our magical adventure watching the fireworks light up the sky while enjoying Mickey ice cream bars.

We have had a wonderful year in the library, full of great stories, learning, and fun! Thank you to all of our students and families for supporting a love of reading throughout the school year.
A very special thank you to Ms. Gloria for all of her hard work, kindness, and dedication as our librarian. We appreciate the time and care she gives to our students and school community!
If your student still has any library books checked out, please return them no later than Friday, May 22.
As summer is approaching, we encourage everyone to keep reading! Whether it’s visiting the local library, reading together at home, or enjoying a favorite book outside in the sunshine, reading over the summer helps students continue to grow and learn.
We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and book-filled summer! ☀️📖

First graders’ life skill focus last week was nutrition and balanced eating. This week, they learned about kitchen safety and how to use tools in the kitchen. Students practiced peeling, spreading, slicing, and dicing. Stay tuned for next week when they put these skills to work by following recipes!
