First graders had a dog-gone good time celebrating the 101st day of school! 🐾 🦴

Happy 💯 day of school! Second graders wrote about what their lives would be like at 100 years old, and kindergarteners sorted snack and shared what they would do if they had $100!

After further consideration, Spring Lake will be CLOSED tomorrow January 21st due to cold temps.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but our class is so delightful! First graders welcomed the winter weather by doing a week-long unit on the book "The Snowy Day" by Ezra Jack Keats. They concluded the unit by playing in the "snow" and celebrated reaching another classroom goal with a hot chocolate party! ❄️

Happy New Year! Just a couple of calendar reminders for the month of January. There is NO SCHOOL on the 20th for Martin Luther King Day and Early Dismissal at 12pm on the 31st for School Improvement Day. There will NOT be afternoon Latchkey on the 31st.

Happy New Year! Reminder that students return to school on Tuesday, January 7 with a regular dismissal time of 2:30pm.

The 3-6th graders showcased recent projects in interactive museum exhibits this week. Exhibits included a collection of works on Revolutionay War Heroes, planets, and dinosaurs. The museum curators, Mr. Mills and Mrs. Lettow were very pleased with artists’ research for the collection and look forward to future collections. Way to finish the year strong, students!

PTC will be decorating the gym this Sunday, December 8th at 4:00 p.m., for the upcoming Winter Program. Please reach out to a PTC member if you’re interested in helping!

December Bobcat Bulletin

Happy Thanksgiving! Our K-2 students were extra thankful this week. They read "A Little Thanksgiving Spot" and wrote or illustrated three things they're thankful for, colored turkey masks during art, and the first and second graders read "Balloons Over Broadway" which tells about puppeteer Tony Sarg and how the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade came to be. They finished the story by making balloon-inspired crowns!

The 3rd - 6th graders enjoyed a field trip to Children’s Discovery Museum. The students engaged in the engineering process with a lesson on building cars. The students loved the hands on exhibits, imaginative play, and makers’ spaces. Thank you, Spring Lake School, for a fabulous field trip!
